Early spring, 2012. Garlic is coming up.
Early sugar snap peas and spring broccoli, 2012.
Shallots. I bought these at the farmer's market and planted in October, 2011. They all came up and produced beautiful shallots which we cured and had until January the next year.
Garlic (center) and potatoes (to the right), around late April, 2012.

Sweet potatoes (center), tomatoes, and peppers (in the foreground), and butternut squash (on the left) late July. The garlic has already been harvested and is curing in the garage. We harvested about 100 bulbs, enough to eat and save for planting in the fall. Many of our sweet potatoes had been chewed on by voles. Apparently, they love them (and our bamboo rhizomes).

Eggplant in container. These mini eggplants are decorative but we preferred the taste and texture of the larger ones.
Early summer, butternut squash growing on concrete reinforcement wire trellis. We did not support these- just let them hang. Several were around 5 pounds! We harvested 15 squash from 4 plants.

A typical daily harvest, August 2012. |

The White German garlic produced huge cloves! |

These are second year blackberries growing along our garage on a wire trellis supported by 4x4 fence posts |

My husband added mulch around our side Green Giants using composted rabbit manure! You can also see the blackberries growing (to the right)
Fall broccoli and cabbage. We planted these about mid August. The cabbages did fine but about 1/3 of the broccoli never formed heads. Still had enough to freeze 10 quart bags.

Parsnips planted in April, 2012, harvested in January, 2013! To the right, onions curing, late July. |
Thanks for sharing your blog with us Kerrie! It is huge. Kayla and I are jealous of all the room you have to plant! We look forward to reading your blog these next few months to learn more about what we can do to make our own garden flourish and grow to its fullest.
